Battery ???
Lynda has a 2001 C5 with 12,500 original miles. She has owned for 8 months. The battery is 2 years old. Never had a problem. Battery was dead in morning. Had been driven day before. AAA jumped and said battery was okay but only had 4 volts when they had arrived. She drove the next day. All was ok. Two days later she drove to car show where she was in the "generation" display. Yesterday, which was 4 days after the jump, Vette started right up and she was driving when all kinds of electrical problems occurred. This included the ABS warning, radio and all types of warnings. Took to Chevrolet dealer. They found nothing wrong and cleared a few codes. She drove home with no problems.
Replace battery. Clean all grounds. Unplug, clean and replug all major electrical plugs you can find while battery is disconnected. The C5s get gremlins especially if not driven much...
Stop taking a 20+ year old car to 'the dealer' is the best idea. No one working there has likely ever worked on a C5. Contact your local Corvette club for recommendations.
If your battery repeatedly goes dead you can look for a parasitic draw:

Any ideas??
Tnank you
Sounds like maybe a serial data bus issue…can’t help if it’s intermittent…dealers only replace parts…they don’t make money diagnosing and they wouldn’t know how to diagnose this anyway !!…what codes did they erase ??…should be on their RO…you may also have a parasitic drain.
Very first thing is to remove battery and have it load tested at a local auto parts store. Second thing is to verify that the charging system is indeed charging the battery. And of course the third and final test is to insure that there is not a abnormally high sleep mode current drain.

Spoke with mechanic Car thru no codes and when they started it every thing was normal. I suggested to Lyn that we replace the battery which was my first reaction and others have suggested.herein. I've owned 10 Corvettes from C2 thru C7. As recall the C-5 consensus was to replace the battery when electric clitches started happening.

Thank you for your comments.
I disagree with that consensus. Troubleshooting is king with a C5. Parts changers are disappointed more often than not.
whatever you do, if someone convinces you that the alternator is bad, do not give yours away as a core, if there really ts a problem with it you will need to have it rebuilt as it is special to that car
