I’m want ing to change the rear end to a 3.90. If I do, should I change the stall converter also? If so.. what RPM stall should I use?
thanks in advance
Typically the guys here are running Yank 3200 stall. Just be aware that the 3.90 is on the steep side for an auto. Most are running 3.42 or 3.73. I like low gears and wouldn’t think twice about a 3.90, just make sure that’s going to work for your driving circumstances. 👍
3.73 gears and yank 3200 here.
If you want great drag times with an NA car, 3.90 gear and 4000+ stall, 4000 stall probably won’t be street friendly though.
3200 stall is great. It doesn’t whine that much. You can daily drive, do autocross, drag race, even do HPDE.
