Default Engine flush with LiquiMoly

A
Anyone perform an engine flush on their c5? Looking at maintenance records, it seems the previous owners didn't perform regular oil changes, so I'm worried about sludge buildup in my 87k mile c5. It has zero leaks anywhere, would an engine flush damage old seals and cause a leak?

It might. If it ain't broke don't fix it. A couple of Mobil 1 oil changes 1,000mi apart would probably do more good than that snake oil.

If you suspect sludge, I'd pull a valve cover and look for it. Pretty easy job on a C5. Just pull whichever one is easiest. I'd do that before dumping anything into the engine. I have a strong feeling you'll find no sludge....

Valvoline restore and protect.
relatively new on the market. Works slowly so as not to plug your oil filter.
Dumping flush in just isn’t the best idea.

I agree with my buddy Grinder that you should pull a valve cover and have a look see.

Pull a valve cover and inspect. Will take you 10 minutes and you will have definitive answers to sludge questions. Don't assume anything.

If its just mildly dirty you can run it up to temp for 15-20 minutes and change the oil. I did it with a similar product on my 90k c5 when I got it. If you really suspect it might be crusty you might want to inspect a bit first.
