I have a '99 convertible. New top was put on about 10 or 11 years ago. At some point over the past few years, I noticed the driver's door window corner was hitting the corner of the top and has cause a fraying along the edge. See pic below:
I've tried adjusting the window tip in but even tipping it way in (such that the auto reverse kicks in when raising it) does not help with clearing the top. I've tried adjusting the adjustment screws where the top mounts the body to tighten the top but at the last possible adjustment that I can still latch the top, the window still hits the top. I'm thinking that what is really needed is to tilt the window not in or out, but lengthwise, raising the rear corner and lowering it at the front, sort of like the arrow in this illustration:
But every DIY window adjustment I can find deals only with the tip-in adjustment. I know many others have had this problem so I'm hoping someone can help me out with how to do this, or even tell me if I'm on the right track, or can point to a DIY write-up or video. TIA!
The adjustments are: Fore/aft, Up/down and Tip in/out. Looks like you need to go forward and up (rear) down (front) Just keep trying, it takes a while!

That's what I was thinking. How do I make those adjustments? Where are the adjusting screws? I easily found DIYs for the tip-in/tip-out but not for the up/down. Any leads on DIYs for those would be appreciated. Thanks!

You have to remove the inner door panel. Loosen the brackets on the regulator to move the window fore/aft as required. Minor up/down uses the jack screws next to the tip-in screws. Major up/down is made with the same brackets as fore-aft. Don't over-tighten!

Okay, thanks, that is helpful. I should be able to get to it sometime this week.
