i just had a set of ARE STAGE 2 HEADS, COMP CAM 224/224, DOUBLE ROLLER TIMING CHAIN. installed. and also the full FLP exh. system. i have also from a previously installed system a set of B&B PRT CAT BACK EXH. i have all the other goodies, ls6 man., haltric , breathless ported th. body etc, etc. my problem is that the car is REALLY,REALLY LOUD. even at idle. should i change my exh to a rt. 66 sys???(i like the quad oval tips, or should i put my OEM mufflers back on . or any other suggestions would be appreciated. i mean this car is REALLY,REALLY LOUD. DOES ANYONE THINK I WILL HAVE A LOT OF RESONANCE WITH SOMETHING LIKE A RT. 66 SYS????
If you go to another cat-back system try the Corsa Touring system. Several forum members have started out with Corsa Pace Car system. As they added mods it became to loud so they switched to the Touring system to quiet it down. No resonance from either system. You can sale you old system on the Forum :D
The Rt 66 is an awesome exhaust. Very deep tone and no motor boat sound. I like the Rt. 66 b/c I don't run cats on my big bore and it sounds perfect...

Re: car to loud (SideStep)
I've got the Corsa Touring, whisper quiet, while cruising, in the cabin and not too loud at WOT; however, listening from outside the car is "not so quiet." :yesnod:
It appears you're somewhat noise sensitive. The best choice for you may be the stock Z-06 system. It flows much better than the stock LS1 system and is lighter than almost anything out there. You can often find these on the C5 Parts for Sale section or on ebay.
yes, the cats are in, and i guess i am noise sensitive, but when your driveing and it sounds like your in a stock car (nascar) at 2000rpm and can't even think because of the noise then i must of had the wrong impression on what i was adding to the car and probably i'll have to remove the heads and cam and put my OEM back on. sell the new heads and cam (take a loss on them ) and be like roy rodgers (you can tell by the roy rodgers thing that i have a little AGE on me) ride off into the sunset , singing HAPPY TRAILS to myself. i wanted the extra power ,got my wish and am not a happy camper.i guess you just can't have both worlds. power and not to loud of a car
I agree with the others who have said a stock Z06 Ti system. Perhaps consider one of the Magnaflow systems in the parts for sale section. It has a deep bass tone at idle and cammy sound at WOT and no motorboat sound like the Corsa systems (can't blame them - their primary business involves motorboats :jester ). Good luck  and awesome MODs. :yesnod:
Vdeer, Don't even think about taking those heads and cam out! Your car can be quiet and have the power.
I ran mine for awhile with the stock C5 exhaust and it was very quiet, just a little bit over stock. Now I have a Z06 Ti and it is just a little louder but nowhere near obnoxious, and it is a very pleasing kind of sound.
