Drove my C5 to the store with no issues. Got back in to drive home. Backed out of the parking space and when I put my automatic in drive, the engine stalled. I started it again and revved it up a bit and put it in drive again and as soon as I depressed the accelerator pedal, the engine stalled again. It did this about five times at which point I decided to pull it back into a parking space and call a friend. Each time I put it in drive it would lurch forward and stall but I eventually moved it forward enough to get it reparked. Waited about ten minutes for my friend to arrive and decided to PUSH my C5 in a more lighted parking space for overnight parking until I could get it towed to a shop the next day. When my friend got there, I started the car and backed it out of the parking space with no issue. My friend was ready to help me push it to a new parking space when I decided to put it in drive one more time to see what would happen. This time, the car stayed running and when I depressed the accelerator, it actually moved forward without stalling. I decided to let it stay running and take a chance at driving it home with my friend following just in case. The entire drive home went without a hitch and I pulled my C5 in my garage and left it there so I could get on this forum to see if anybody has had a similar issue and discovered what caused it. I am concerned about driving it anywhere now because I don't want the same thing to occur when I am far from home. Any suggestions?
Did any messages appear on the DIC, such as service column lock or pull key wait ten seconds? Sounds very much like it's the 2mph fuel shutoff which can be caused by a low battery. Many C5 owners install the LMC5 which is a steering column bypass module.
Here's what I recommend, take a look at your dialog box above the steering wheel, it may say " remove the key and wait ten seconds". Just do it! It will then run like a normal start. There's a bybass kit that can help, but they don't really, just look at it as if its an added security measure.

It's the security if you get the message "PULL KEY WAIT 10 SECONDS" on the DIC that's what it does if you don't do what DIC says. IT happened to me before.

The LMC5 only worked a few times for me. I went through two of them, I just deal with turning off the car and restarting. Now, I found it better I unhook my battery everytime I'm finished with the car for the night since we hardly use it. It starts up right way. However, I have to check that dialog before I take off or I know the engine will cut off.
