I try hard. Again, good luck if you require a rebuild down the road. I see many members suggest Turn 1 when this comes up periodically, so they cannot be all that bad. I have their pump and a rebuilt rack, both are great and the turn around on the rack rebuild was very quick.

Even if they add a separate/optional charge for doing so... plopping a giant glob of epoxy externally is a horrendous attempt at fixing this leak.
If there is a better way, then I agree, even if it's a separate fee.

I Changed the oil on my car yesterday and noticed my Magna steer leaking as well. This got me thinking of a better mouse trap er seal. Anyone know the exact size of that oring?
Besides the cleaning and buttering up with polysulfide sealer how about some form of Quad ring in place of the O-Ring? Definitely more sealing potential with some sort of quad seal:

Here's what I ended up with. I first slid the magneto in and lightly scored the point at which it stuck out. I then took a series of washers and stacked them so that I could use a small triangle file to make myself a groove. This prooved to actually work quite well. In the end, I would have been better off if I had a big kit of various orings on hand, as I really only had a small selection from my metric oring kit from oreilly. Ultimately I was able to find a combination that did slide in with some lube. I used a new thicker width oring in conjuction with the new secondary oring. The recessed area inside the rack measures approximately 13.5 mm in diameter. The hole appears to be loosely drilled to 3/8". I had a 3/8 reamer on hand that fit inside the hole with a small amount of play. I replaced the original oring with one that was about 2.5 mm thick and that came out to about 13.5mm in diameter once it was slid down the "post." For the new additional oring, I ended up using a 8mm OD by 1.5 mm width. After conducting a few test/ dry fits, I found that this was the only size I could get in there that would actually go in and it did a tiny amount of self clearancing - probably because my groove was not perfectly even all the way around. If I had my big selection of various orings from amazon at the time I was doing the filing, I would have probably ended up using a 1mm thick oring and making a smaller groove. At this time, I haven't confirmed if I am completely leak free. I feel like it might be weeping ever-so-slightly. I took the car out for a drive to get up to full operating temps. I have a clean shop towel folded up and placed right under the wires that I am periodically checking for a drip. It's definitely improved, but I am going for 100% leak free. If I catch it leaking, my plan is to pull the rack out again, clean and degrease it from the exterior, and apply permatex... My poor wires are hanging on for dear life at this point as you can see

Those wires are looking a little rough...red one has a nick in the insulation and the black one seems to be pulling out of the housing.

I recently used some JB Weld Marine Epoxy on a leaking gas tank buklhead fitting and so far so good.
