Default My '01 w/Active suspension is getting errors

DIC says shocks malfunctioning or something to the affect. Is there a way to test the system to see which shock(s) is/are bad? Assuming the car needs all four shocks, is there a preferred brand / source for the new shocks? I want to keep the active/switchable system in tact.

Thank you for any advice.

Brian

Right now I just have a warning on the dash. I will scan for codes and post my findings. What else could it be but the shocks? They're original.

As an owner of a 2001 C-5, which also has the F45 suspension, I can relate to your situation. But I hate to tell you, that as far as I know, replacement shocks for this set-up were discontinued a LONG time ago......

I did hear GM no longer makes them, but are there 3rd-party makers who do? I think I found some on eBay, Amazon, etc. Are they too risky? What are people doing when the shocks fail? Looks like there's an option to replace them with standard shocks and effectively abandon the active system? What did you do?

Yes, you car replace the OE shocks with "regular" shocks, Bilstein seem to be the favorite C-5 shocks, here at CF. You can then install a set pf "F45 simulators", which fool the car's electronics into thinking the "OE " (or equivalent) shocks are in place, or you can have the F45 function programmed out of the BCM.

"What did I do"? At this point, my shocks are still functioning as intended, but my car has only 31,000 miles on it. Therefore, the OE shocks are still in place. However, in retrospect, if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have ordered the F45 package. Live and learn.....

I tried using the OPTIONS/FUEL x 4 to display codes on the DIC but none appeared. Do I need a scanner to read the codes?

Mine had only 32k but I’m getting errors. How can I determine if I need to replace all four or just two? I really do want to keep the active system.

God answered my prayers; it was just a bad relay.
