So I recently swapped the battery in my car since it died (not surprising considering the battery was really old). I put the new one in, and I got the check engine light on startup. The code showed P1518, which upon searching says it's an issue with the throttle actuator control module. I got the code cleared, and it hasn't come back after driving for about 20 minutes, but I know that's not much time. I haven't had any of the symptoms associated with the error code. Everything drives completely normal as far as I can tell. I even got on it a little and didn't feel an issues with performance. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it just a glitch from swapping the battery?
Don’t know if you checked your new battery before starting the car but I’ve seen new batteries that have been sitting on the shelf for a while have low voltage…just see if that DTC returns.
I did check the new battery before installing it, and it was good. Although I didn't know that about the DTC P1518 code. When my battery died, I was getting the low voltage warning, and it wouldn't crank. Maybe that code carried over from when it had the old battery?
