Default Steering Rack Hardline o-Rings

Im doing a harmonic balancer job on Popscar. While removing the hardlines to the steering rack I noticed an O-Ring on the end of hardline. Before I get everything back into the car and buttoned up I think I want to replace the o-rings. I suspect pulling an old one off would destroy it making a measurement difficult.

Anyone out there happen to know what size o-rings are on the end of the hardline?

Just take the old one to an O’Reillys and they can size it and hand you new ones. Get an extra in case the first one goes flying across the garage.

Helps if you put the year of your car in your sig.

These o-rings fit into a tapered hole and the used ones are formed to the taper and hard to tell the original size.
The pn is 26001594

O boy, if it aint broke dont fix it. I bet over 90% or even that don't touch that oring. I had those lines off at least 10 15 times. But i know you won't be able to sleep at night. What seem like a quick 10min job can turn into you throwing your car over a clif. GL
And i haven't heard anyone on here change that. or i missed it. Or they don't want to say that because there car is somewhere in a ditch where your will be soon.LOLOL

Where did you get that p/n from, and what year is it applicable to? Curious if something changed after 2002?

My parts manual shows p/n 26015539 for 2000-2002. A quick comparision between that and the p/n 26001594:

I changed mine on the hard lines and the pump with run of the mills automotive grade o-rings from Oreillys and they have worked fine. I may be wrong on the pump, it was a while ago, but I think so…. Couple of bucks.

I got the number from the dealer

1/27/17 Edwards Chevrolet
2ea 26001594 Seal $7.09 ea
Total $15.60

I installed both when I installed my supercharger. They fit perfectly on my 2004 Z06

Yep, that's when I changed mine too...when I installed the vortech. Something was obviously updated.

Surprisingly, no wrenches have been thrown in anger so pushing the car over a cliff is unlikely.

I appreciate the info given.
