Re: C5 Performance and Modifications advice?!?! (PMD(RED C5))
First of all do you have an A4 or an M6? If you have an automatic a good high stall converter and 3.42 gears will do wonders for your performance. If you have an M6 3.90 or 4.10 gears will give you a nice boost in performance. Next I would change the air box and install a Blackwing air filter I would also consider a set of headers.
Re: C5 Performance and Modifications advice?!?! (PMD(RED C5))
Is your car automatic, and what gear does it have???
As far as good upgrade..The Blackwing air intake is the best mod for the buck...I had mine instaled a week ago and i love it....It should add 10rwhp...and there is some one in here selling them for 190$ just check old posts. I did the catback next i went with corsa pace car....it sounds a littel better than stock at idle, but when you go over 3000 rpm, it sounds agressive enough for me......good luck
Re: C5 Performance and Modifications advice?!?! (PMD(RED C5))
My signiture lists all of the mods to my '98 so far. Remember that when installing an open intake on a '97-'98 you should relocate the fuel recurve line. I got my fuel recurve line kit from Corvette Concepts. Ecklers and Corvette Central no longer carry them. Whenever you modify the stock air intake system on '97-'98's you lose the vacuum that is created in the stock air filter assembly. This vacuum is fed to the fuel pressure regulator and leans the mixture for maximum horsepower. You can recover the lost vacuum by simply installing the Fuel Recurve Line Kit. The kit connects to the fuel pressure regulator and tees into a secondary vacuum port with a specially calibrated tee. This installation will let your engine acheive the full power you should get with items like the Blackwing, Ram air intakes or modified air filter lids. Cold air grills are also a good idea for letting cooler air into the engine compartment. If you have an auto trans, low temp stat or oversize tires then you can also benefit from the Hypertech Programmer. The stock exhaust flows pretty well and is sufficient for the mods I have. You can save a lot of money and get the great looks of those aftermarket exhast systems with a nice set of SS tips. Good luck.

Re: C5 Performance and Modifications advice?!?! (Mike98SilVert)
I would start with an exhaust system. It doesn't do much for performance but just the sound makes it feel faster, and it will sound like a Vette more fun to drive, next would be an air intake system... Good luck, there are a lot of people here to help you spend your money... :D :seeya
Re: C5 Performance and Modifications advice?!?! (PMD(RED C5))
Heads and Cam would be good. Leave the exhaust alone so you can pass smog. Gears, converters, Underdrive pulleys, Superchargers, NOS, Upgraded brake systems are all good mods to do too. :)
