Default Clutch engagement issues

2002 z06 74k miles with heads/cam/intake/shorty headers.
The following was Installed 4k miles /1 year ago by a reputable local shop that specializes in corvettes:
-McLeod RST twin disk clutch and balanced billet steel flywheel
-new gm slave cylinder with remote speed bleeder
-new throw out bearing
-new pilot bearing
-new arp fly wheel & pressure plate bolts
-new rear main seal/cover/gasket/bolts

The car has been driven normally since the clutch was replaced no burn outs, clutch dumps ,or drag racing.

The car drove and shifted great and the clutch performed flawlessly up until Today when I was leaving the grocery store.

I fully depressed the clutch to the floor put the car in first gear and as I slowly began to release the clutch pedal about half way to the top it started to grind & squeal like crazy (burnt clutch smell) like the clutch was not disengaged. I put the transmission in neutral and fully release the clutch pedal then slightly depress the pedal to the point where the clutch first disengages and then put the transmission into 1st gear and slowly release the pedal from there and the clutch engaged and drove normally, but as soon as I depressed the clutch pedal again to shift into second once the pedal got about half way to floor it would grind and squeal and would not go into gear , again like the clutch was not disengaging. However if i depress the clutch pedal slightly just to the point of disengagement and then change gears and slowly release the pedal it will shift through gears normally.

It seems as if the clutch will disengage close to top of the pedal’s travel and will remain disengaged until the pedal reaches about half way to the floor then it seems to some how engage grind/squeal/burn until the pedal reaches the bottom/floor then it seems to disengage again.

I was able to limp the car home and proceeded to check the clutch master cylinder reservoir which was full but the fluid was very dirty. I proceeded to bleed the system/replace the fluid it but does not seem to have helped the issue. My next step would be to replace the master cylinder.

I am at a loss.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Dave

I think your problem lies within the clutch assembly. I recommend dropping the bell housing's lower cover and inspect the clutch while engaging and disengaging before you replace any parts.

Car is in neutral the grind/noise happens when depressing the pedal both from the top and when releasing from the the bottom both at about the mid point.
