Default CLB install

I've been putting this off, but after having the vette delivered with it locked up 2 years ago I've been scared.......especially reading all the stories.
For some reason the 97's weren't included in the recall

I checked with the dealer and they fixed mine with the same CL they use in the recall, but left my old wiring. Do I have anything to worry about anymore?

How hard is this to install, I am really not that great when it comes to car repairs. Any shops in the Milwaukee are that would install this, if I need it?

TIA

This is the best instructional guide w/pics that I've seen so far.
http://97vette.com/howto/columnlock/index.html

The first page is text reviewing the problem etc.
Scroll to the bottom and click on next for a very comprehensive text/pictorial guide to the complete installation. Was very helpful for me as a review before I installed my C5 Solutions CLB.

My compliments to the Webmaster

Do the bypass. The recall does not fix the problem. Installation is not difficult at all. If I can do it, anyone can.

DO IT! I did mine a little over a week ago, not a big deal. Takes 30-45 minutes at most. Just follow the instructions and all will be fine. I am NOT all that mechanical savvy and was able to do it.

Do it , its really easy. I did it in about 1 hour because I kept runing upstairs to look at the instructions on the website. The hardest part for me anyway was getting the kick panel off. I was trying to be too careful and trying to finess it off which was taking forever. The wife just got annoyed with how I was doing it and just yanked it off immediately and it came right off.
I get a little smile now everytime I shut the car off and don't hear that annoying zzzzzzzzzttttttt.
