Default Retrofit telescoping steering column

Did this a couple months ago. It’s relatively easy to install the telescoping steering column from a c5 with that option. I didn’t bother wiring up a controller just extended the column all the way (literally touched motor wires to car battery until it started extending) and installed it. Keep the wheel and the steering wheel position sensor from the last column straight so you don’t break it, swap it over, and bolt the column in like the other one came out. You will probably need to center the steering wheel afterwards but your alignment is the same. Wheel is now an extra few inches closer to me. The telescoping column is only 5lbs heavier than the last. Took me a day but everything takes me longer than advertised.

Good to know. Where did you source the other column?

eBay for about $250. The seating position improvement is worth it.

Should add you will need to pull your steering wheel which can be read about in other threads.
