No you didn't waste your money. Blackwing is the real deal. Very well made and definitely pretty easy to install. HP gains will naturally vary a little from car to car, but you will definitely have enough more than when you started to make it a very worthwhile purchase. There are a couple of other very good air filters out there as well, but Blackwing just happens to be one of the more popular ones.
I am happy with mine. I was surprised at how small the stock hole was in the GM air filter box. Probably had to do it to keep water from going in it during a down poor in the amazon.
Hardest part of the install was taking out the MAF sensor wire. There is a grey clip in the center has to be pushed down and then removed. I also had to shorten the supplied tube.

Corsa's were my first mod.. then came the blackwing.. at that time it was simply Donaldson. Good Mod. But the best mod by far will be headers to go with your new induction system.
