Default Low/rough idle

I’ve read several other posts concerning rough idle and stalling out. I just got the car back in December and have only driven it a couple times. Car was like this when I bought it.

I just changed the harmonic damper because the other was wobbly. The guy I got it from just did a cam swap and a few other things that go along with it. He said it had a basic tune but would need another tune.

My question is am I fighting this issue for no reason and just need a good tune or are there other issues?

I have cleared all codes that could be cleared and there are none that would cause a running issue.

I can start it and feather the throttle pedal to keep it running and finally get it to idle, but after I hit the throttle and let it go back to idle I have to feather it again so it doesn’t choke out.

I attempted the idle relearn but it did not have any effect.

sorry if I’m all over the place it’s been a long week.

It needs a proper tune. Especially if the last owner did a cam swap. If there are other mods you want to do, might as well complete those, then pay for only one tune. Post pics of the car. It will help.

Makes it hard to drive anywhere with the idle issue. I’d love to get it tuned now, gotta get some other bugs worked out first.

Not worth even thinking about troubleshooting until you get a tune.....or you will be chasing your tail

I have a feeling you are at the tip of the iceberg on this one.

I’m hoping the tune will straighten out most of it. I’m ready to drive it. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it tuned soon. 🤞

Was your Corvette inspected/repaired at a Chevrolet dealership? The technicians at our dealerships are GM-specialty trained and can offer additional support in finding a possible cause for rough idling. Should you like assistance connecting with one, you can email our team at socialmedia@gm.com at any point.
