Today i did a dyno on my car ....with a blackwing and corsa catback...and it made 273hp and 280tq...Is this for real..my car is a 99 vert automatic....The place that i had the dyno done at is a new place in my town..They have been dynoing cars for a littel over 2 weeks....My Q is are these numbers the sad truth, or did these guys not know what the hell they were doing???

did other cars of comprable or known power dyno as well? this would gauge your performance against a possibly inaccurate dyno. did you dyno in Drive? sounds like you may have been in OD? Did you hear any knock or pinging that may have actually hurt your performance? your numbers are some of the lowest i have heard. something isnt right. Also, maybe you bought a 'Friday' car?? :lol:
yes, it was done there.....i just gave it a shot it was only 40$..oh well i am going to do a dyno at MTI in houston when ever i get a chance hopefully this week......By the way i am going to the vette expo but i don't knpw if i am going on friday or saturday......
Seems to be 20 to 25 hp low for the mods you have, you otta be up around the 3-310hp range with about an equel amount of tq. I would try a different dyno as this does't sound right. :crazy:
was it a dynojet or mustang dyno? My 99 A4 with a vortex and corsa was only at 288/305 on our dynojet with like an 11:1 a/f. Most stock A4 C5s are 285 to 300 on our dyno, the higher end being the 01+ cars.
I HAVE AN 03 & HAVE THE SAME DYNO #'S, MY BUDDY HAS A 01 & AGAIN HIS #'S ARE WITH-IN 1 RWHP OF MINE. THIS IS ON A MUSTANG DYNO WHICH TENDS TO SHOW LESS RWHP THAN A DYNO JET. BTW MY SON OWNS & OPERATES THE DYNO. HE HAS DONE MANY CARS & THESE #'S ARE IN LINE. HE SAYS HE CAN CHANGE THE SET-UP ON THE DYNO & MAKE THE #'S HIGHER, BUT IT WOULD'NT BE ACCURATE!
mY 03 HAS THE BLACK WING & CORSA INDY & CORSA X-PIPE. HAVE A 3.42 GEAR & LS1 EDIT WAITING FOR A TORQUE CONVERTER. IF THATS NOT CLEAR THE 3.42 GEAR IS NOT INSTALLED YET. :)
Hi, I have a 99 Vert also.
I also think it is a little low. 290 hp and 300 torque would not be unexpected. 270 and 280 again does seems low.
Could be....atmosphere, dirty fuel injectors, not optium spark plugs. Maybe a valve is hanging up on carbon or other internal issue. Maybe a high speed run to blow the carbon out could help. Would a leakdown/ compression test be time well spent?
Of course the dyno could read low; one ccould just utilize the number as a base for comparsions if you utilize the same dyno over and over.
Lastly Air Fuel mixture could also be were some horsepower is hiding. For example, my A/F is not optimized and from what I read 10 "ponies" are waiting there to be freed.
