Well I had cleaned everything I could think of on my C5 but missed one spot.
If a mouse gets into the fan of the heater make sure to pull the cowl. I pulled the wipers and the cowl and put a camera down into the heater box intake. I found more moving pad material from the previous owner.
I know this material was removed inside but did not consider the outside. I snaked a sweeper hose in and filled about 3/4 of a 5 gallon sweeper.
I ran the fan and put more Ozium in the duct and reassembled. I again pulled the fan and used the camera to check the other areas and all looks clear.
I was really lucky that the car did not suffer any wire damage. All my wires are intact. The previous owner bought the car in 2016 and sold it in 2023 and never drove it more than 1600 miles. The one positive was the roof had damage so the dealer did replace the top so I have a new roof.
So make sure to clean the outer air box,
