Does anyone have an answer to the wheel hop problem I'm having with my 03 C5Z? I've put a HPI transaxle brace on it, also went thru and replaced all the bushing in the rear suspension. Stock tire sizes, the car has only 15k on it, the brace got rid of a lot of the hop, but not all of it. It seems to be the right rear wheel hops the most. I've been told to do a sway bar upgrade to a C6Z, just doesn't seem right way to go. Anyone have any suggestions ?

My experience with 430rwhp and a ECS brace C6 shocks and less than 30k on my suspension has been mixed, it depends on the road surface. I have Nitto NT555g2 rear tires and it's the either wheel spin, hook up or wheel hop. Better to have the first 2,
Seems like the 6spd cars have more of a problem than the autos. Maybe a wheel speed thing
a little during winter months I wouldn't try it in cold weather.. I didn't even think of motor mounts, hmmmm. It has 465 rwhp, 3:91 rear ratio.
Don't get caught up in internet lore. There is very little methodical troubleshooting with most of the "worked for me" recommendations online. .....but, it's your money to spend as you see fit.
You asked about my post, there are multiple posts regarding this that's all to my point. That was his experience there are more. Google it
No, you google it and post evidence to support your claim that new motor mounts "help" reduce wheel hop.
You posted a link that does not contain evidence.
Until you support your claim with facts your claim is dismissed.
Did you read post 9 in the link where the poster stated Phaft motor mounts cured his wheel hop
Here a copied it for you 🙄
BillY2K Pfadt motor mounts fixed it for me. After we installed the coilovers and T1 swaysbars it actually seemed to amplify the issue of hop. Getting everything aligned helped, but it was still bad. We did it before winter, so I'm thinking it was also cold roads and cold Michelin PS2 tires. I know certain tires HATE the cold, and the Michelins fall into that category. But, even on cold roads, with these motor mounts I can slam the gas in the first gear and get no hop at all. But there is a trade off of added NVH with the mounts. These cars are weird though, my old modded FRCs didn't hop at all, or if they did it was rare. It seems the Z06 is more prone to hop, possibly due to the stiffer rear spring and shock valving, hard to say why.

Your posting has told me all to know now. I've learned to drive around it and as posted you'll be surprised how fast you can launch with a little skill and practice. I'm just used to a mopar (don't say it loud) and it is completely diff.
We appreciate the dedicated work you put into your 2003 C5Z! If you are unable to find a working resolution, we'd advise bringing your ride to a Chevrolet dealership. They may be able to offer assistance in locating a cause for the wheel hopping. Should you need help locating a facility near you, feel free to email our support team at socialmedia@gm.com anytime.
NO, new set of Continental Extreme Contacts, and I am impressed with them. When I got it there were the original Goodyear SC's, but they were as hard as a rock.
