Default Reduced Engine power.

Hey, I was wondering if someone knows what can cause a "no comm." message for the BCM?? I had corrosion on it but I cleaned it off. But still shows. Do I need to replace the BCM? 1998 C5 corvette

Thanks.

The message means no communication. Could be anything from signal interference to broken wire to dead BCM. Troubleshoot the issue, find someone else who can troubleshoot, or fire the parts cannon are three options for further investigation.

So you have a U1064 code now? That's not what you had before....

38-RTD: No Comm.

There is a history here. Other threads cover the multiple water leaks, and a fully submerged ESCM.

It's really strange because every time I turn on the car I seem to get different codes.. Checked all Grounds, Cleaned. Checked Fuses, All good. I got a fully charged battery, Checked wires and they all seem to be good (I will triple check later), and Cleaned Throttle body. Im pretty certain that the BCM is actually cooked though I find it strange that "reduced engine power" only comes up when i'm 5 min in into driving the car and not as soon as I turn it on.

As for the ESCM (Electronic suspension control system) Im just gonna use simulators for that (10W10Ohm resistors) and upgrade into C6 ZO6 shocks. Do you think that will work since the board was in water or should I just get someone with techII to remove the F45 option. Some guy was charging me around 60-80 Bucks for that (not bad because dealer wanted 236).

Ok. First of all, if you have a U1064 code, there is little to no chance the engine is starting.

So again, you are absolutely certain that you have a U1064C code ?

40-BCM: 3 Codes

U1255H, U1096, U1016H. Was the last codes I had.

Though I remember having a "No comm." when all of this was first happening.

So your F45 codes disappeared despite it being inoperative?

Frustrating that you cherry-pick what info you provide, instead of telling the whole story.

I'm out.....

Sorry lucky, I’m having a hard time trying to figure out what info I have and have not given you since the last thread. I posted the codes on the last thread. Thanks for your help. I’m not trying to intentionally cherry pick. Id be more than happy to provide The required information but I feel I have told the whole story…

Lerpy it's a lot easier to stay organized if you confine your issues to a single thread and present stuff in an organized manner.
Something like:
Date: Issue
Stuff I've tried- results of that stuff

If you've got a bunch of seemingly unrelated codes maybe try coloring the text for each code?
Or giving up on the forum for solving a complex issue? Well meaning posters (and let's face it a troll or two) may have you chasing ghosts anyway.

Sorry about that friends this was my first time posting a major complex issue like this but I understand now. If anyone is still interested in helping then I can write a detailed Story with timelines and details…
