The PT-2400 was a great little converter, I had one for 2 years. I think I had a 60' time of 1.83, it does have it limitations, no vibrations.

:iagree:
I also had the PT2400 with 3.42 gears as Al said it is great little converter. It drives just like stock at normal speeds but still gives you alot more lowend grunt than the stock converter. However if you plan on racing your car alot or you will be doing H/C cam in the futher go with a converter with more stall.

I also have the PT2400 with 3.42 gears. I like this converter, but if I were to do it again, I'd go with a Yank 3500?. I drove forum member Redgar's modded Vette (385 rwhp) and it pulled away from a dead stop even more like stock than mine. I am looking for approx 360-380 rwhp soon and wished I had the Yank. Not sure of the correct model, sorry.
I have the PT2400 in my car now, it's getting switched out for a bigger stall convereter in a week or two. Great street manners, see my sig for best times/60-foots with it. The only reason I'm going bigger is to try to squeeze another tenth or two out of my current setup. If you do a lot of street driving, you'll love it :yesnod: It will almost drive like stock until you hammer it.

Edgar, just FYI, has a ST3500, which is called a Yank SuperThruster. It has a STR or 2.4-2.5 depending on when you looked at Yank's web-site. Redgar likely also had DR's on his car when you drove it.
I would get a Higher Stall converter NOW and don't waste your time on a 2400 stall TC in MY opinion. PT makes a 2800-2900, that might be better.
The ST3500 Redgar has is more of a drag set up due to the high str, which stands for "stall torque ratio" and the ST3500 is more for a car that will see a pretty decent amount of drag strip time and is willing to run sticky tires, this TC would be hard to hook up on street tires. The SY3500 (SuperYank 3500) has a 1.61 str and is better for a mostly street driven car as the lower str will launch the car a bit softer, but you can still smoke the tires at will even with a SY3500..
Pro Torque makes a good product and I talked to the owner's son last year, he is a really nice guy, reminds me a lot of myself. I am personally getting a Yank, likely the SY3500 1.61 str and on a really off chance, a Yank ST3500 2.4 str or SS3600 2.6 str.
Good Luck in your decision. The PT2400 is a nice TC, but I bet you will want more very soon, but that of course depends on YOUR specific application for your Torque Converter.
The Bandit.................

I'm intalling a PT2900 this weekend. If you want any info on its performance you can contact jpvette (John P. Harbour). I purchased it from him last month. I am installing other things also so I really would not be able to tell you the difference in the convertor alone..
Re: those with a pro-torqe step inside (rockgt302)
I went from the stock converter to the PT2400-2900 (PT rates their converters by the amount of HP being applied) and 342 gears and dropped 9/10s of a second three years ago. I had the transmission rebuilt last year at 50,000 and sent the converter back to PT and they upgraded it to a 2900-3600 for $275.00.
