I just got done installing Corbeau seats in my 2000 and it was much more difficult than I read online especially since Corbeau markets these to Corvette owners. A couple of things to note however. I bought the seats second hand. They look just like the Evolution X on their website (was there an earlier non-X Evolution that looked similar?). They came with sliders and Porsche brackets. I bought some second hand corbeau brackets with the sticker and correct Part numbers for a C5.
At first I went to install and there was no way, as the side of the seat interfered with the retractor cover so much I couldn't get the bracket on the floor studs. Only when I removed the cover and the retractor did the seat fit. So I drilled the pattern in the brackets 1/2" toward the center of the car. That allowed me to fit the seat but still with lots of rubbing against the retractor cover (and tunnel). I ended up covering that part of vinyl with some stainless steel tape so at least its not grippy when adjusting the seat. I also noticed that with the rearward movement of the seat is limited by the inboard side of the seatback hitting the center console/tunnel. I can make a fist in the gap between the seat back and the wall behind it with the seat adjusted all the way backward.
In the end my 6'0" 230 lb self fits comfortable with the perfect amount of headroom for my helmet so that's good. The seats are tough to adjust but shouldn't require any movement from now on unless somebody else drives the car. I am just curious why I ran into issues when others report it being a quick and easy swap......
Researching this topic myself it really seems a seat swap almost needs a c6 seatbelt conversion to make clearance at the retractor where you had issues.
Just installed Evolution X in my 2000 FCR. I used Corbeau bracket parts # E1502 and E1503. The brackets have two different mounting holes for the sliders. I tried installing the seat in the position the brackets shipped in, didn't work. Took the sliders off the brackets, re-installed the slides to the bracket in the other set of mounting holes, and the seats went in the car with no issues.
FWIW I went with their A4s. Install was straightforward and as many had shared.. needed to install them vice versa (driver seat on the passenger side, etc.). All good otherwise… but a very tight fit.
I do like those Evolutions though. Good luck with them!

I got E1502F and E1503F and only one set of mounting holes. Perhaps older versions. Are your seats still a tight fit between the trans tunnel and retractor cover when adjusting fore and aft?
you use the C5 belts. but.. swap the seats side for side.. right hand seat goes on left side.
pretty simple instal
? The seats are fixed back and I am pretty sure are the same, not side specific. Am I missing something? The brackets are side specific but because of the seat belt mount.
Mine were tight but work fine. As you said only one way the brackets would go in rhe car and both seats are the same. I just had to change the mounting holes

ok sorry i was thinking of the reclining seats..
where the lever needs to go against the tunnel side.
can t help you then... sorry.. gl

.
Even with C6 belt you'll still need to heavily trim the b pillar lower trim panel that covered the C5 retractor, been there done that. Swapping the seats driver to passenger side is a better solution
I have them in my C5z as well. The stock 3 point seat buckle placement definitely gets in the way with my elbow on right handers at the track. Other than that, I like them and they fit well. Do you have any pictures of the bracket modifications you made?
I have the Evo x's. The brackets I got from them were jacked up, had extra holes in them and they don't move back and forth nicely but the seats are legit.
I believe, on the brackets there is an ability to offset them to the right or left, and the way they come sit from the factory is wrong. Had a similar issue with my 2002.
