Hello, I have a 2000 c5 automatic. I recently tried replacing the seals between the trans and diff. Without much research I ordered #12455045 for the trans side. A brown quark material ring gasket. Didn’t realize at the time the description says “manual rear output shaft seal” and #24228816 for the diff side. A black quark ring gasket. Description for it is “transmission output shaft seal” Needless to say I still atf dripping between the diff and trans. I have scrolled and scrolled through the internet and can’t find the name of the seal that goes into the diff side where the output shaft goes through. Do I just get two output shaft seals???
I am doing this job right now. The transmission output shaft seal is 24228816, that is the seal keeping the ATF in. Mine is not leaking from the diff itself as I have no gear lube leaking. I downloaded the posted file parts manual (thank you Smoken1) and yes, the diff shaft seal and the trans output shaft seal are the same. Diagram shows it as 24207010 which is replaced with 24228816. It is on page 445 of the downloaded manual, item 9.
