Default P0200 help please

Hey all,

I pulled my 01 out of storage on Saturday and drove it about 10 miles. Sunday I put about 150 miles on it and parked it for a couple hours. Fired it up again and drive it about 2 blocks and felt a noticeable shake, wasn't sure if it was engine or wheels\tires. check engine light came on and i turned around and headed home, then the check engine light started blinking (never seen that before) something definitely didn't feel right. I parked the car and shut it off (which i hear i should have ran the codes before i shut it down but I didn't) I ran the codes and I had the P0200 code and a C2100 (which i know is a tire pressure sensor error that's unrelated.) I cleared the c2100 code and the check engine light went out. I fired the car up again and it appeared to be running fine. Took it for a short ride and ran fine.

all the threads I'm reading say its possible a wire rubbing through on a injector wiring harness probably on the drive side under the fuel rail covers which would make sense being that after i parked it and fired it up again everything seemed fine. Question I have is where is this harness and what does it look like, I'm fairly new to this C5 world and I'm not afraid to dig into something but all the threads talk about it like I know what I'm looking at when we're talking about injector harnesses look like, I don't. i pull the fuel rail covers off and see a bunch of wires there. any help or pictures of what I'm looking for would be super helpful. I found a link in another thread point here (https://www.digitalcorvettes.com/thr...st#post-434808) that looks like it used to have some helpful pictures that aren't there any longer.

also, is the car safe to drive to a shop in this condition, the blinking check engine light really freaked me out.

thanks as always for the help.

You probably have a bad connection or a possible bad injector…if you are not mechanically inclined I HIGHLY suggest you take your car to an auto electric shop and let them diagnose it…it is an issue with the control side of the injector circuit…it may be difficult to diagnose it if the MIL is not flashing anymore…if the MIL is flashing this is a misfire that can possibly damage your catalytic converter.

yep, I'm sure a trip to the shop is in order here based on my skillset, I'd just really like to have an idea what the issue is before I blindly drop it off.

Wiring issue, bad injector or worst case the PCM.

I think I may have found the rubbing through the injector wiring harness issue described in other posts. This is on the drive side where the wiring harness goes behind the fuel rail. Could this be enough to throw the P0200 error and would adding a few layers of electrical tape be sufficient to address this for the time being. The car seems to be running fine now

Yes that can be a cause !!…tape is a temporary repair…you want to splice a new section of wiring and solder and shrink wrap it depending how bad it is.
