I have a 98 with an A4 2.73 trans and some mods (see sig). Sometimes when I hammer down (with traction control off or on) it will kick into WOT and scream. Sometimes it will just go without going into WOT.
Re: Sometimes it wil, sometimes it won't? (geoff1750)
Are you hitting it at the exact same MPH each time? Are you sure the floor mat or nothing else is getting stuck under the accelerator? What about engine coolant temperature and ambient temperature, similiar situations with both shift scenarios?
Re: Sometimes it wil, sometimes it won't? (Godspeed)
I am mostly trying this at a slow roll or standing still. I guess I will have to "test" some more. Temperature out side is usually <50*. I only try it when the engine is at least over 150*. I don't seem to have the problem when I am going over 40 or 50mph. Even at 80mph it will kick in.

I had the same problem. I got ls1edit and changed the A4 shift parameters. The stock parameters have a 'lazy' downshift. Now It downshifts when I want it to. :yesnod:
