Default Delete 2nd and 4th gear

Just saw a 2004 ZO6 with 2nd and 4th speed deleted. Why? Why is that a good idea and what problems might I face in the future? First time I've run into this and is this common?

No idea what you talking about. Why do you think 2 and 4th gear have been deleted?

got me also, that’s why I asked. Either he was BS-ing me or he really did it. I just didn’t want to argue with him. I walked away after driving it the way he wanted. Literally just walked away.

Bad trans maybe? I'd walk away, no Id run! LOL But now I'm intrigued as to what the guy is trying.

I’m a truck driver and I skip gears all the time if
we’re light on weight. I know that some people invert Eaton Fuller 13s to 10 speed, but I’ve never heard of deleting them. I’m going to ask my truck mechanic.

My first Camaro I power-shifted into 2nd and ripped all the Dog Teeth off 2nd Gear, 510rwhp on Drag Radials does that, that's how.
Rebuilt it with a Viper 2nd Gear and it was fine then.

Sounds like the car has issues so I'd steer clear unless you can build a T56 and want to get into it.

Perhaps you misunderstood the 1-4 skip shift operation.....

Read that first post again, guy said 2 and 4 are "deleted"..

Skip Shift forces you to go from 1->4. Physically blocks you out of 2 and 3 when it engages.

Thanks, I'm well acquainted with the operation.

...and your assuming the OP is stating everything correctly, and is familiar with the platform.

Any of us that knows cars and given some of the slimeballs who sell them I'm leaning towards the T56 is tore up with them two gears he mentioned, and the guy didn't want that found out.

The guy is telling us what he experienced, you can ask questions tho. As good as you are projecting yourself here I'm surprised you haven't figured out what's wrong with that T56 yet.

My favorite was always the "has check engine light, just needs O2 sensor." Well, if all it needs is an O2 sensor, why don't you change it so you don't have to try to explain the light?!
