99, owned since new. Twenty years old Z06 clutch slave cylinder started leaking. Only option in my area was a dealer. Spoke to two techs about clutch replacement, and went with Tasca Chevrolet in Woonsocket RI.
GM no longer makes a Z06 replacement. I asked for a comparable aftermarket unit. They installed a Valero "performance" setup with a stock GM slave cylinder. Pedal pressure seemed higher than previous setup.
Fast-forward 5,000 miles,(18 months), and the slave completely failed. Tasca says "since more than 12 months have passed........" you know the drill.
Can I assume that the stock slave from GM was not correct for a higher pressure setup?
Now need to find a competent installer in my area. (Northern RI Southeastern MA) Could use input on appropriate replacement clutch setup.
