Hatch struts replacement
I am replacing the back struts of my 99 hatchback. Which end should be up and which end should be down? I think someone installed it upside down. Currently, the rod side is on the glass hatch, and the thick part is near the rear speakers. Is that correct?

The strut is installed with the rod side down to the lower bracket on a COUPE.
