I am a tuner, learned on my own C5 starting in 2012.

So let me ask. Is this a speed density tune? Does it have a MAF?
Is your tuner hands on or is this remote tuning?
Did it get on a dyno?
Are there any logs available that caught it in the act?

Maybe talk about all the mods done. And how it behaves in normal driving etc.
The car is MAF tuned and my tuber was hands on, he is about ~40 minutes away. Yes i was able to get on the dyno and made 382 whp. i dont have the data logs available myself but i can see if the tuner will email me them.
The car Has a texas speed torquer v2 cam on a 112 LSA, speed engineering long tube headers, and PTC 3400 stall. Various other supporting stuff for the cam (hardened pushrods, .660 springs, etc) The car is completely fine under normal driving other than the occasional bucking at low speeds when converter is locked. behaves very well and has no issues other than the dying one it hits limiter in gear. the car used to not be able to hit limiter at all or it would die, including in park or neutral. now the car can hit limiter just fine in park or neutral but will still die if it hits limiter in gear (caused by tire spin with TC off, or just me manually shifting and allowing to hit limiter to see if it would die after my tuner got me on the dyno) the full tune timeline was after my cam swap the car was towed to the tuner, he was unable to get it on the dyno due to a leaking rear main but he gave me a street tune so i could drive the car. one day i noticed that the car died when i took off from about 10mph when it hit rev limiter from wheel spin. fast forward a few months i had my rear main seal replaced and my torque tube rebuilt, and my tuner was able to get me on the dyno and tune my car. he fixed the dying issue on P/N but it still does it in gear

actually i retract my statement about MAF, the car is MAF under normal driving but at WOT the car goes into speed density.

Actually, if the MAF is being used, it’s either MAF only, or a blended tune which they are stock. In that case it is MAF only above 4000 rpm.

When it was dying in neutral was that after stabbing the throttle and would die as it tried to return to idle?

When it dies after hitting the limiter, is it as you coast down?

You mentioned it loses the battery. Can you explain that better?

yes, the car would die trying to return to idle in neutral. yes the car dies when coasting down after hitting limiter, the car loses battery if for example i hit limiter with the shifter in 3rd, but then switch it to drive. then everything shots off and the engine acts like it was switched off.

I have experienced this with my supercharged 97 coupe, usually happens after a hard pull. In know it's the tune and it doesn't lose battery it's simply that the car idles to low and the engine shuts off. Used to happen all the time when I would drive to work and stop at a guard station to show my badge, very embarrassing to have to restart my car.

So the dying on coast down is possibly the idle cracker/follower settings in the tune. Your cam while not wild does have a fair amount of overlap which makes the idle stuff somewhat tricky.

I’m unsure what’s up with hitting the rev limiter in third and having it flat shut off. Third is Drive btw.
If you are topping out third gear, even if you have 3.42 gears, you are north of 150mph.

What rpm is the rev limiter set to?

gotcha, I was just referring to changing the shifter position at all, it does it regardless of where i shift it. the limiter is set to 6500-6600 and my shift points are set to 6300
