So this is weird. Drove the car all last week and had zero issues with the trans, even at higher rpms/loads.
This morning, got up to go to work and get to the end of my street. Go to take off and first doesn't want to engage. Fiddle with the clutch/shifter and it finally engages and off we go. Car proceeds to drive fine for another 10 miles (mostly just cruising at 60). When to do a semi-spirited pull getting onto the freeway and I've somehow completely lost 2nd gear. I can feel a very weak click as though the gear is being engaged, but if I let the clutch out the engine just revs and the shifter will pop out of gear.
Any ideas? This a sign my fork pads and/or blocker rings let go? Or does this sound more like a shifter alignment issue?
Weird to me that it popped up out of absolutely nowhere.

You really need to issue a disclaimer when posting problems with your car, as your situation unique....i.e. this is a salvage car that you have pieced together. The driveline is new, used, etc. What parts have been changed. You already have a mystery vibration that cannot be diagnosed.....etc.

Thank you for the helpful response. I'll be sure to do that when I have an issue that's related to the accident it was in.
Got the car home. Pulled the dash and the shifter box was loose. Realigned it using rpms instructions and ive got 2nd back. Effort to shift into the gear is a bit higher than the rest, but ill take what I can get for now
