Looking for help with 04' ABS Issue
I am trying to diagnose an issue with the ABS on my 2004 Coupe and want to make sure I have done all I can before I spend the $$ to replace it.
I have a code 1243 for ABS motor stalled, this is the only code in the system. There are no comms issues with the EBCM that I can find. If I clear the code the lights go out but when I turn the car off/back on it comes right back. I got a scanner that allows me to activate all the ABS components and started checking it out. Running an ABS test it tested OK on the scanner but I never heard the electric motor run.
I went in and manually turned the ABS motor on via the scanner and it got hot and smelled like burning electrical. I turned it off and let it cool. At no point did it sound like it was turning but it also didn't hum or anything either. I tried tapping it when a hammer handle but that didn't do anything either.
Is there anything else I can do at this point or am I looking at needing to get another pump?
