Stereo upgrade questions
I've done the basic speaker upgrade in my coupe and want better sound quality than what the JBL mid / rears delivered.
1. Is it better to not get an adaptor and bypass the Bose sound processor? Unless that provides a benefit, I'd like to eliminate things that can go wrong over time.
2. I am looking at Focal 165AS3 components for the doors, Focal 130AC coaxials for the rear connected to an Alpine KTA-450 Amp
Regarding the door speakers, I'll likely put the tweeters in the door handle location as my A pillar already has gauges blocking that area.
I have never heard Focal speakers, but have heard great things about them for years, and want to try them out.
I have not figured out a head unit yet but would likely prefer Alpine or Kenwood (possibly even with a CD player).
I'd like inputs on both items above and if there are better options, what those suggestions are. I really liked the Bose system in my A6 as that really had a good surround sound feeling to me. I'm hoping these speakers will make enough base that I don't desire a sub (mostly to save on space). Is it better to look for a head unit with 6 RCA outputs in case I do end up wanting a sub?
Just a thought.
