i must have the same problems, people don't believe my car run's 12.89' with 2.73's it can be done.......................... :yesnod: ps your car is normal.13.00@106 is about right for 3.15 car. almost same mods as your car. i run high 12's in cold air...
Times, traps speeds are relative to location, check with other in your area. On the forum we are are talking about the entire continental area. For one example, Colorado is way above sea level, times will be much slower. A car on the other coast will kick butt (time & trap speed). Bring that same car to another area (West Side), I want to see it duplicate or do better. Cars that run super times on the East Coast will not do it on this side, just to many factors involved. Bring a Z06 (stock, or air intake) that ran 11.6 or what ever, on this side, it will not happen. Thats reality, I am sure the West Side has some very go drivers also. Times are just a gauge, but it just depends, maybe I am wrong.
I dont think it matters if your on the East or West coast. Just as long as your close to sea level. The higher up the less air.
Out here in Sacramento I should run a good time pretty close to sea level.
You can run a really good time, but look at all factors. Damm its cold compared to So. Cali! :yesnod:    All I am saying is you really need to judge by your area.
What Al said is true. I would go one step further. You have to compare your car on that track on that day. I have an '02 A4 with 3.15 and blackwing. At some tracks I can start out at a 13.70 and finish the day running 14.0 with just the weather changes. I would say for your times and mods your running about right. You can see my best below. That was at a track that is fairly close to sea level. Carlsbad.
Today....Houston Raceway Park
12.93
106.6
01 coupe a4
only (1) 1/4 mile pass....timers screwed up and track reduced to 1/8 mile runs only, till I went home.
Bring a Z06 (stock, or air intake) that ran 11.6 or what ever, on this side, it will not happen.
the only thing that matters is getting a sea level track and some decent air. And of course some decent track prep doesn't hurt either.
Are there no (near) sea level drag strips in Ca.??
The closest sea level 1/4 mile track was Carlsbad at 280 ft. which is closed at the moment. The next track is Fontana at 1135, things are different in Cali and temp are no way in comparision to the East Side.
