If you are paying a shop, it's going to be a couple thousand $
It's an all day job, the steering rack needs to drop down, at which time you should probably rebuild the rack, and at the least replace the mount bushings.
I’ve seen examples of shops charging much less. With a lift, professional tools and experience it’s not a full days work. That’s as long as you don’t add anything else. My car has about the same mileage and since it wasn’t leaking I left as is…another job for another day…
It’s not that hard to do yourself if you watch some videos and collect and or rent some tools. Here’s a good video series on this job:
Just got quoted for a shop to put on an ATI super Damper and ARP Crankshaft bolt. $990 for 6 hours of labor + parts = $1562 (w/ taxes).
Not terrible per say. I would do this job myself if I had access to a lift to get the car high enough. but $1500 to basically permanently fix an issue works for me.

Sounds abought right. I replaced my OE balancer with an ATI damper, 4-5 years ago. Did the job myself, and it wasn't really all that hard, but at 65+ years of age, at the time, it wasn't fun crawling around underneath the car. "While I was in there", I took the time to upgrade the timing chain and drilled the crank, in order to properly index the ATI balancer. Working at a constant, but relaxed pace, it took me a couple of days to complete the job. And one thing that never seems to get mentioned, in these DIY discussions, is that because you remove the steering rack, and disturb where it originally was, a front end alignment is probably a good idea.
Go with the Summit Racing Damper and save the added cost of the ATi. The ATI is good but the Summit one is SFI rated and more than you will ever need for much less.
