Looks like a knock-off Tech 2 runs about 400 on ebay, sans the PCMCIA card for GM (which is about 30 dollars or so).
VCX Nano is 100-150 depending on where you go, but Tech2Win requires a subscription to ACDelco which isn't cheap. Also the install looks incredibly weird/difficult.
Does anyone have experience with both/either? Thoughts on which one to go with?
I bought a VCX Nano, and yeah the installation requires downloading files from a Google Drive, and clicking through some anti-virus warnings.
I installed it on an old laptop that I don't care about.
It works, but I wouldn't install it on a computer than I care about.
I'm kinda sad that the software is so sketchy, because the hardware seems good.
What features of those tools are the most frequently used?
It would probably not be hard to add them to PCM Hammer so everyone could use them for free, but I'd need some help figuring out what commands to send and what responses to listen for. I think I'm pretty close to having CASE relearn working, for example.

I have the vcxnano running on a old laptop. You don't need a subscription to use it unless you are trying to write to the PCM The Tech2 requires a subscription to write to the PCM as does the VCX Nano. The install is not complicated and I think it has been updated to make it easier to install and better compatibility with win10.

Would a subscription be needed for writing to other modules? Or is that a thing? I'm thinking stuff along the lines of adding a telescoping column to a Z06.
