Default Help with Vacuum

Hello Guys
My 2001 C5 wouldn't pass the emissions test and was showing the knock sensor was bad. So over the weekend I underwent the task of removing the intake replacing the sensors and putting it all back together now I have a whistling sound which sounds like it's coming from the back of the intake. My understanding is there as a small vacuum line that should have attached back to the sensor located on the back of the intake. Is there a way that I can reconnect that without having to remove the intake again or could the whistling be coming from somewhere else. Car is running great after a rough start but I also replace the O-rings on the fuel injectors so I think that was just the fuel getting back into the lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There's a vacuum line that runs from the back of the intake to the brake booster. This connects where the MAP sensor is located on the rear of the intake manifold. Yeah, it's a PITA to reach. I would feel by hand and try to reconnect it before removing the intake again. The vacuum line is so short that it doesn't really allow you to connect it with the intake removed anyway.

If you looked for used LS1/LS6 intake manifolds on ebay you can see the MAF sensor and vacuum line connector in the pics. You'll see many for sale where this connector is broken because someone forcefully removed the intake before disconnecting the vacuum line. Unfortunately nobody seems to sell the replacement connector. Hopefully you didn't break yours when you removed the intake.

Finally, I have a 99' and there's also a small vacuum line connected back there too that runs to other parts of the car. I think it goes to the AIR pump and possibly the HVAC, but not 100% certain on that. IDK if the 01' still retains this line.

Nope. Just the tank and HVAC.

The thin vacuumline goes from back of the intake to the vacuumtank.
From the vacuumtank one cvauumline goes to the HVAC inside of the compartmebnt and one line goes to the air solonoid that control the oulet lave of the airpump

I was not aware of this fact ,but I see now that the shutoff valve on the air pump outlet is missing on the part drawing on the 99 compared with a 2000 .
Even if the electric drawing in the SI manual indicate the AIR solonoid on a 99 ..............

The schematic is correct. The PCM controls the A.I.R. solenoid in the pump housing via the relay. This control changes to a vacuum solenoid control in 2000

Just take the intake manifold back off and look....with a vacuum leak car will run bad at idle but better under load.
