Default Passthrough device with GlobalTIS + Tech2Win?

I have a 2004 coupe, been looking to make a OE Dealership level setup to be able to have complete functionality without going to GM, the ones in my area will not reprogram, only will replace modules for well over a grand. I have been searching for hours on forums, mainly our brothers at saabcentral and it seems they have made it work with TechII clones and cracked versions of Tech2Win/TIS2000/GlobalTIS. Has anyone had any experience with this using MDI/MDI2/VCX Nano or a Mongoose and care to share their knowledge on the subject? In short, trying to make an offline rig to be able to work on my own car without forking an arm and a leg to shady dealers and ACDelco's subscriptions. Im sure every C5/C6 owner will appreciate it!

If you are just looking to program modules on your 04 and you have a Tech 2 just use that…you do know that some repair shops can do this…it’s not just a dealership “thing”…most shops I know that do programming use a Cardaq Plus 3…my friend who owns an AAMCO transmission shop even does programming.

What is it you wish to be programming though?

Tech2 clone or vxdiag/laptop have been stable options. I do wish there were a more complete and specific culled list of C5 command trees for the Tech2. Though aside from nixxing an F45 suspension or cycling my brakes at fluid change I've never found further needs for these in 25 years.

Thanks.

I've had that and one other for years. I guess maybe I'm just lucky to not have needed it enough to explore it.

I am attempting to decide what would be the best or easiest option, right now I am seeing a lot of Tech2/TIS2000 on an VM or on an old WinXP laptop. However some people on the saab forums have been able to use MDI/GlobalTIS with no issues. I am aware GlobalTIS was made mainly for the EU market however it still has NA support. Just cannot find the correct version (2011), which allows the newer MDIs/Mongoose to be connected and recognized.

How is your experience with a clone Tech2? I have read many mixed reviews on them, and seen many mods people have done to make them more stable.

Default VXdiag Nano vs. Tech2Win

New to this forum. I recently purchased a VXdiag Nano with the 'complimentary' Tech2Win/GDS2 software downloads. For the past 2 weeks I've been struggling to get this cloned software running (Tech2Win mostly) on a dedicated Windows 7 32-bit machine. Their support has been ineffective, and I'm ready to throw in the towel and just get a general scan tool and use the a J2534 passthrough for any future flashing.

If there are any Tech2 Win/Nano experts out there, I'd like to IM them. I'm lost with the error messages I get.

I've used the FORscan on Fords for years, that's the gold standard of user friendly and reliable.

I bought a Tech2 clone years ago and still rely on it so I have no guidance to offer for vxdiag. If you're new to the forum just know that the forum's internal search function is less than spectacular. I have better success finding focused results using Google and aiming it at the forum when I search. That may help.
