Default C5 B1061 error code

Hi all, once again asking for some help on my stubborn airbag light on my 1998 C5. The aorbag light will come on and stay on in cold weather and won't to its normal 7 flashes on start up, just comes on and stay on, if its warm out the airbag light will do its normal 7 flashes then turn off like normal.
so basically if its a warm day no issues, cold day air bag light on with this error code of B1061 which I believe means its a bad connection.

Now I have upgraded my guage cluster to a 2001 clusterclustthis problem is still present even when using my original gauge cluster so im 99% sure the issue has nothing to do with the newer cluster and also nothing to do with the cluster end as a whole so something must be wrong elsewhere.

Ive attended some photos of the data my tech2 gave me while the airbag light was on if anyone see any issue with the data please let me know!

Thanks!

How do you draw this conclusion based on the data I already provided? The 7 flashes self test is done within the IPC itself. It only suggests the solid-state portion of the IPC is working, not the SDM itself. The 97-98 airbag light is controlled by the SDM through a discrete connection to the IPC(provides a ground to the bulb). The 99-2004 airbag light is controlled by the SDM via class 2 serial buss. The 97-98 SDM is not connected to the class 2 serial buss, you can only read the system (as shown) by connecting to the DLC. I cannot speak to the temperature dependent behavior of the airbag light on the 2001 IPC, but it is not being controlled by the SDM.

I think you have misunderstood my entire post. Ive now used 2 diferent IPCs and both have this problem, its very safe to say the IPC and the gauge cluster as a whole is not the problem. When the light comes on it won't do the 7 normal flashes it will just come on and stay on, no flashes, nothing. Im not going to keep going around in circles, its not anything to do with the IPC or gauge cluster.

Sorry, but if you have used anything but a 97-98 IPC with your stock 97-98 SDM....it will NEVER work correctly.

Good luck.
