The Ignition switch cylinder has a set of contacts that press against the keys resistor pellet, this is part of the pass key security system. There are two small gauge wires that leave the Ignition cylinder and have a connector that connects them to the BCM.
Yes...there is( or there was orignally). Technically it's a cable, containing a black and white wire for the lock cylinder. It is attached to the bezel with a clamp to manage the length.
