Default Interior Temp Sensor Delete??

Hi, I recently bought a 97 and when I bought it the seller told me a/c wasn’t blowing cold because of low freon. When I got home and started working on it, I saw the compressor wasn’t kicking on. I checked freon levels and they were fine but I found a thread here somewhere that said if the interior temp sensor is bad the compressor wont kick on so I decided to check that and it wasn’t there. I took the drivers side of the dash off to try to find the plug wire but it seems like it has been deleted somehow. I know the a/c system has been worked on due to some shoddy wiring I found around the car.

I am honestly stumped at this point I have tried finding anything related to this in the forum for a while and have been unsuccessful. If anyone knows anything about this or has advice or knows another thread to check out please let me know. Thank you

How did you determine you have a correct refrigerant charge?

The EXTERIOR or “ambient” temp sensor determines if the outside air temperature is within a certain temperature range allowing the AC clutch to engage…NOT the interior sensor…# 10 is the interior sensor.

There is no way for you to know that the refrigerant levels are fine with the compressor not operating or without measuring the amount of refrigerant charge added to the system.
