Well I got my alignment tool. Took off the mgw short shifter and I guess the first gen used the original shifter box. Either way I aligned the shifter and now seems to get into reverse easier. Only thing now it feels notchy through shifts. I may take the anti-venom mod out now and try it. I put it in assuming it didn’t have the stock shifter box.
When i removed the washer for that mod my shifting was better, go figure.
What after market shifter do you have? I am experiencing similar issue with an older model mgw short shifter. My second doesn’t kick me out but sometimes doesn’t want to go in smooth. Reverse does at times not want to go in. I did the antivenom mod which is cheap and simple and seemed to smooth it out a little and I thought it fixed my hard reverse issue but came back. I also had Chevy replace transmission fluid recently too. I don’t have the alignment tool for the mgw short shifter so I was wondering if you had the same shifter to see how you aligned it.

Yeah kinda it’s a little better now not much a problem at all once warmed up. I think I like the feel better with the anti-venom washer mod. It is notchy enough to know it’s in gear. With the mod it was slightly notchy but sometimes I was unsure if it went into second gear. Maybe 3 washers would has complete took the notchy feel away, but at this point it’s good enough. May be investing in a newer short shifter in the future.
