Default QUESTON on O2 Simulators...

Who makes them and do they make them for other cars?

A good buddy of mine has a 98 Blown Cobra and is running straight pipes. His plates and license are about to get suspended for not passing emissions test. I know you can get some sims for the C5 but can he get some for his Stang?

Also, a follow up question regarding emissions. Does anyone know the cut off year where they dont use the sniffer and use the OBDII instead??

Much thanks in advance!!

I don't know specifically about O2 sims for a Ford. But I am sure that they are made by someone. One of the Mustang internet forums should have info. Your friend may be able to get through the OBDII test with the sims, but the visual inspection will be a problem. If he has already been failed for altered emission equipment, they inspectors will likely do a visual inspection.

The OBDII test applies to 96 and newer vehicles in Oregon and likely elsewhere.

Almost all states are moving away from sniffing exhaust and going to the OBDII readings.

Should be around 2005 or so.
