Default Going to the track, need some tips

Hey guys, I'm going to the track this weekend for the first time with my 99 6spd and was hoping to get some tips from you racers out there. First question is what is good tire pressure for runflats? Second question is traction control on, off, or competition mode? Third, what is best launch rpm? Fourth, with rev limit set at 6400rpm will I still be in third gear as I cross finish line? Any other tips would be appreciated.

Here's a good one:
Check with the insurance agent to make sure that test and tune / fun runs are covered by your insurance.

You might finish in 3rd with a 6400 rev limiter but, you'll probably pull more top end if you go to 4th.

I wouldn't recommend taking the run craps down more then 2 - 3 lbs. It probably won't help any way.

TC off, AH compitition mode.

You're on run craps you won't launch. The best you can hope for is to get it moving in the forward direction. NOT sideways, forward.

Good luck and most of all have fun.

Mark..First of all ...Have fun!! :yesnod: :smash: That's important.

Second..with runflats it's like racing with crutches so don't be so alarmed if you don't get traction ...especially with a 6 speed. I would bring the pressure down to 25 psi otherwise you will get a DIC message of low air pressure. You will need to "feather " the car out the first 60' and then nail it so you have a chance at a reasonable E.T. Just experience the staging process..stage with BOTH yellow lights on then launch at about 1500 rpm and gradually give it gas as you sustain traction..Just have fun...:smash:

Actually Mean Green has the technique down prettey good with runflats ..touch base with him:D

cut a 1.889 on 'em but I'm in an A4 :D

we'll help ya out this weekend Mark and on the air pressure, honestly, the sidewall is so stiff, you might as well leave 'em at street pressure...I even do with the Nittos :D

and I run with TC/AH off :D
