Does anyone have a cure for wheel hop? I've installed a transaxle brace from HPI, installed Bielstien shocks (B6) and replaced sway bar bushings. It has diminished quite q bit, I seen rear housings destroyed by wheel hop so I'm determined to fit it.
I'll try to keep it short on the mods. Vararam forced air, headers, heads were cc'd and polished, new springs keepers and retainers, 3:91 gears, dyno tuned, HPI trans axle brace, Bilstein B6 shocks (I know I should have put on coil overs), tires are continental Xtreme contact (two years old) running 40 psi, has 15K miles on the car. Best time was 11.47 with a lot of hop.

tires 22-24psi cold will help a lot. I shoot for 28 hot on a 315/30r18. Yes I drive on the street like that too. Yes its fine. Yes the car hooks. Yes it corners really well
Wheel hop is generally a bushing problem- I would start looking at delrin or polyurethane bushing replacements
Also check the rear spring and make sure the pads and bolts are in good shape with equal preload
what diff brace do you have? dumping the oem one for *insert favorite brand here* bar-types will help control drivetrain twist
C5 drivetrain is prone to wheel hop because of the single center diff mount. I tried a firmer hinson mount, coil overs, played with air pressure and tires. Finally broke the output shaft on the trans and part of the internals of the diff. Went C6Z output shaft and C6Z diff with a trans/diff brace and haven't had an issue since.
The hinson mount transmitted a lot of NVH into the cabin as did the t-bar mount
I have a HPI transaxle brace that I installed myself. It cut the hop down a lot, but I'm shooting for 100%. The car was in storage for 19 yrs due to the first owner almost losing his leg to blood clots. I got it with 9k miles. It has some engine work done and a 3:91 gear installed. I don't know how he did it but it turned a 11.47 quarter mile with all the hop with the factory trans mount. He said he had to take it easy on the launch.
Like I said, HPI trans axle brace. It replaces the BS diff mount the factory gives you. center bolt to diff with exstended arms with rubber snubber to frame.
OEM and there are in good shape. I don't see where a front motor mount would have any effect on the rear wheel hop anyway. Just FYI at this point only the right rear wheel hops. Of course I don't have eyes on the left side but you can feel just the right side.
