Hey all. My 2000 c5 rides like a covered wagon on a rocky trail. I’ve replaced shocks with bilstein b6, tires are newer non run flats. I’ve replaced sway bar bushings and moog stabilizer bar links. Should I replace the ball joints and control arms? New sway bar? It’s mostly bumpy in the rear. Let me know what you guys have found to smooth out the ride a bit. Sometimes I don’t feel stuck to the road when I’m getting on it a bit and the road isn’t perfect. Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!
Bilsteins are not soft ride.
Sway bars and links won't change the ride, except when cornering hard.
Is this a Z51 car?
Mine is and it rides pretty rough too.
Could change the rear spring to a base soft ride spring.
But, I am finding that the ride is sort of the nature of the beast.
There's always coilovers, but good ones are pricey.
I had the same experience with the B6; really firm!
I installed C6 Z51 sway bars front and rear and the ride smoothed right out. I don’t know why, maybe it shouldn’t matter, but mine was instantly day and night better, way better.. Now it’s not a Crown Vic ride, but pretty close to a stock OEM suspension that corners really good!
An alternative is C6 Z06 shocks. Many swear by them.
