Default What does this do on my LS1?

Hello all... Buiilding a Restomod 65 and I purchased a low mile LS1 engine from an 01 corvette to use in it..
What are these ports on my exhaust manifolds? I " assume" they are for EGR gases but then I read where the LS1 engines do not have a EGR system??? I can't find anything on the internet??
There is a hose/Tube combo that connects both of these ports on both exhaust manifolds then goes somewhere.. attached pic shows the line removed and sitting above the port in the exhaust manifold.... Any help here??

No EGR on a C5. That is a port for the A.I.R. system.

Some reading if you are interested....

If you elect to eliminate the A.I.R. Completely, let me know if you find some block off plates for those ports on the exhaust manifolds. I can tell you that Speedway motors sells some that look really nice, come with new gaskets , and new countersunk bolts. But, they don’t fit! The bolt hole spacing is too wide. Now this was on 99 exhaust manifolds but I find it hard to believe that GM would change the bolt spacing during the C5 run. Speedway was no help explaining what else they “might fit” . They allowed me to return them minus the $10 bucks I paid for shipping. I’m planning on going to a metal store next week and pick up some 1/4”x1 1/4” aluminum flat stock and make my own.
