Hello everybody, I have an 01 zo6 that has been having an ac issue recently. The issue came up when I jumpstarted the battery in the morning a few days ago. Yes I know that I’m not supposed jump start the battery on a c5 because of the sensitive electronics but I had no choice because my daily driver needs some fixing up right now and I had to make it to work on time. The dead battery cause was I had accidentally left the interior lights on over night the day before. My ac isn’t blowing any air but my ac clutch engages and my climate control ac light stays on. I know for a fact it’s not low on freon and I have no leaks because I replaced the ac compressor and got a recharge a couple months ago. The ac functioned perfectly fine before jump starting it. I replaced fuse #24, relay #34 under the hood, and fuses #18 and #27 in the passenger footwell. I fired up the ac and it worked! But 2 days later the ac stopped blowing air again. The ac light and clutch still work but zero air flow. The only thing I can think of is maybe a failed blower motor but if that was the case, why did my ac start working again once I replaced all those fuses? I’m genuinely confused. I checked all those fuses I had originally replaced and they look fine, not blown. The car hasn’t thrown any codes regarding this issue either. Please enlighten me, this is driving me insane.

 

I’d try disconnecting the battery again, letting it sit a few minutes, then reconnecting. It reads like a power surge may have caused the issue, and another might cure or at least change it.

 

Whoever told you that you can't jump start your car is an idiot !!...the AC and blower motor are 2 different systems...if your blower motor isn't working you need to diagnose that.
