I did mine a few weeks ago. I used a steering wheel puller with the j hooks for part of the process. I also soaked the steering wheel nut in PB Blaster and tapped it with a hammer every so often to loosen up the gunk holding it on. All of that and some gorilla arming it for a day and a half and it came off.
Name? You mean besides steering wheel puller???
Just have to make sure whichever one you get has the "J" style GM puller hooks.
I got mine on the loaner program from AutoZone, so it didn't cost me anything.
Good luck getting it off! Mine would not budge. I ended up leaving the puller installed and under tension for a while (15 minutes? an hour?) with the splines soaking in PB Blaster. Eventually it popped off on it's own
