Haven’t driving the car since November given the weather here. Went to go get the car inspected for registration renewal today and the car was shifting fine initially. Noticed as I got closer to the place, the car became more difficult to shift to the point where it would barely go in and required a lot of effort. Previously, never had an issue and the only thing I did around November was change the shifter **** to a cue ball style. Any ideas of what to check? Car shifts fine and smooth with no power/ignition off. I had to start the car in first to get it home and rode in first the entire way at low speeds which seems to also have caused the car to get real hot as expected.
Thinking I need to check the shifter linkage - wondering if when I tightened the cue ball **** I somehow threw something out of alignment.
Hoping that it's not a hydraulic fluid leak from the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder. Might have to lift the car and check for hydraulic fluid, also remove inspection cover on bell housing to look inside.

there is definitely a good amount of clutch fluid although it does look dark.
Bled the clutch today - black fluid in the slave. Unfortunately, no change - car won’t shift into any gear while on. Any other troubleshooting ideas before getting it towed to the shop for a presumed slave/clutch job.
