Caliper cover issue
I have a 2001 C5 Corvette and recently picked up a set of MGP caliper covers (red with silver C5 script) to replace the ones currently on the car. After installing them, my mechanic found that the stock wheels are rubbing against the covers.
Has anyone run into this before? Would a 5mm spacer be enough to fix the clearance issue, or is there a better solution?
Appreciate any advice—thanks!

A few things. There are threads from a decade+ ago discussing issues with these covers.
Are you the original owner of the car? The center caps on your wheels are not original for 2001-2004, and are typical to aftermarket thin spokes....typically steel and not aluminum.....which could make the clearance issues worse.
That said, I don't like wheel spacers
I'll join the chorus here, that cover is already damaged, I'd just take them off. Those things aren't fooling anyone who knows what they are looking at. I always worried about them retaining heat.
I'll suggest a set of powder coated calipers from TPS

They looks great, and won't cause other issues

I'd get rid of them and paint the stock calipers.
